Millar life liberty and the pursuit of gun control legislation is part of the larger national gun control agenda.
Gun owners may want to keep a safe distance and take out their own weapon with each passing day.
"When I take my 9mm off of my belt, you should be in that situation," states Chris Stevens, a security officer for the U.S. Naval Academy, speaking about gun safety.
The University of Florida in Gainesville recently hired its own gun control officer for security staff.
The new instructor in "gun safety" is Andrew Miller, who works alongside former U.S. Navy Special Warfare Operator Brandon Watts.
Miller became the first black instructor of gun safety at the university after he was introduced at the university's gun safety classes.
"It's always kind of scary, hearing people talking about guns and stuff," said Wilson. "It's always kind of scary."
When Watts joined, he says he wanted to protect and support Wilson's family during their ordeal at work.
"He was always looking out for everyone and talking about his job when he needed to talk to them about something," said Wilson. "In the end, he was able to protect the family of my daughter. And I think it's something that we need to live up to."
For now, however, he says his family is safe and safe.
"I'm really comfortable with him," said Wilson. "I'm looking forward to his future and his future being as safe as possible."
That future is only a day away for the Wilson family.

Utai has high tackle charge downgraded to 5.5-6.7, though he also makes a quick grab and some nice plays for the first team. He's pretty much an every-down player for Hawaii this year.
6. Malik Ulu, OLB, Alabama
He plays with a ton of grit and determination and was a great run-stuffer (22 stops, 5.5 tackles for loss) for the Crimson Tide. He should be able to compete for playing time in the middle of the defense and has the kind of talent to win in the NFL.
7. Da'Quan Jones, OLB, Miami
Jones was a revelation for Miami last season and is looking forward to trying to rebound from a dismal 2012. He's a bit undersized, but was a decent tackler who was solid on the ball and did his best to help the Hurricanes defend.
8. Anthony Chickillo, CB, Missouri
Chickillo is a decent tackler with decent speed. He was good at his job defending the run and showed the ability to play physical in run defense, but still shows some poor route running. However, the speed and ability he showed in pass coverage was impressive. He's the kind of guy who plays in the secondary and could help in this area of the field.
9. Will Hernandez, DE/OLB, Oklahoma State
Hernandez, at 5-foot-9, 182, has been playing well for Oklahoma State and will likely be playing with a strong showing for the Cowboys in 2013. If he plays with the "F" pressure he'll make plays across the board, especially in pass protection. The 6-foot-2, 280-pounder can play the run or the pass, so don't be surprised if he goes on to have a pretty good year at Oklahoma State.
10. Demarcus Lawrence, CB, Florida
I knew Lawrence was going to be big in Tallahassee, but he's still pretty raw as a player, even after two seasons in the Bay State system. However, he played well in coverage and gave the Panthers a tough loss to Alabama. He was solid in the run game as well and had one sack and three tackles for loss over the course of the game. He might need to learn quicker if he wants to stick at Alabama.
